I’m all about appreciating those little things in life. They quite literally make my day better, and what better way to give them some love than to share them with you? Without further ado, here are ten things that have made me smile that little bit extra recently.
A good cup of tea.
If you live with me, you’ll know that I look forward to my cup of tea in the morning, in the afternoon – all the damn time. Recently, I’ve been liking a lot of milk in my tea, maybe I’m just ageing backwards.
My Skin D-Luxe Dream Cleansing Melt.
Received this goodie not too long ago in exchange for a review and it’s just wonderful. It doubles up as a face wash, face mask and makeup remover – my waterproof mascara and matte liquid lipsticks melted right off. Best of all, it smells so luxurious. Check it out here if you’re interested.
Waking up and checking your phone to see that it’s not even 6 am yet, so you roll over and go right back to sleep.
Arguably one of the best feelings in life? Especially if you’re not a morning person.
Lots of butter on white toast.
When you get those globs of butter that just melt in your mouth and the toast is still hot? Yeah, food porn right there.
That fluffy cat that lives down the street.
It’s so damn cute with its little squished face and big yellow eyes. No kidding, it comes running down the driveway to greet me when it sees me walking past. UGH I want one.
Been wearing a lot of these recently… not for sports. They’re seriously comfortable and you don’t get the strap-wandering-down-your-arm problem. I’ve been wearing them out all day and the boobage can get a little squashed but it’s not a game changer. Am I moving into the mum-bra phase already? Don’t answer that.
My brown kohl eye pencil from OUD Milano.
A product I received when I visited the OUD Milano store in London. Thought it was a little pricey for a kohl eyeliner (just under £10, though on sale at the moment) but the quality is fantastic. Lasted ALL day with none of the lower lash line smudging that I’m so accustomed to, and like the rest of their products, it’s so damn pigmented and glides on smoothly. Check it out here if you’re interested, or if you’re like me and you hoard brown eyeliner pencils.
Been loving Rowntrees’ Randoms recently, and they’ve done a 30%-less-sugar version recently which tastes just as fabulous. Sweets and chocolate aisle, here I come.
Getting home from work to discover that my matte lipstick has not moved. All day.
Such a great one. I’ve recently been embracing matte lipsticks a lot more despite the dry lips problem, they look so good and the staying power is just to die for. Heads up – Barry M’s Matte Me Up liquid lipsticks offer some surprisingly great quality for a lower-end price tag. The “On The Scene” shade is my go-to at the moment (a peachy-brown nude), and I’m loving it.
Falling asleep to the pitter-patter of rain.
Yes, I’m a romantic. I absolutely love drifting off to the sound of rain, especially when it’s cold outside and I’m all warm and snuggled up in my duvet.
What about you? I’d love to hear about some of your finer pleasures in life, no matter how small or big (or how guilty)! You go girl.
