Welcome back to the third episode of Beauty Blunders, a new series dedicated to guest bloggers and of course, you! Presenting to you a little compilation of our embarrassing beauty mishaps that made us cringe at the time, but have made us laugh ever since. Without further ado – introducing the very lovely Hazel from Mrs S. LDN. She’s a fellow Londoner who blogs about lifestyle, travel, blogging tips and she has a very, very covetable lipstick collection. She’s also started a Woman’s Crush Wednesday series which I absolutely love and I think it’s such a great idea – she’s whiskey in a teacup after all! Please check her out (links below), and here is her beauty blunder.
I love this series idea so much that I just had to get involved! Well done Janelle for coming up with it!
So a few years ago I was on quite a strict student budget. Making sure I only spent my money on the necessities like tampons and vodka…. Don’t judge 🙂
In my efforts to cut costs I decided to chop my own hair! I mean how hard can it be?? I youtube’d a few videos (where else does one start) and figured I had this in the bag! Snip Snip and away we go!
Please also note I was in my folks house, with a few of the girls over, pre-drinking before a night out with at least 3 homemade drinks down the hatch….
Yep you can imagine! I ended up with “layers” parallel to the floor. All over the place, unmanageable and down right gruesome! So bad that in order to fix them I had to chop my hair right up to above the shoulder to get rid of them! (At this point ONLY a professional would do) Since then I have never “cut costs” on my hair! You do not realise how precious it is to you until you look like a Edward Scissor Hand Victim!
I remember trimming my fringe once. It did not go well. Props to Hazel for even bringing scissors anywhere near the rest of her hair – gotta love a bit of Dutch courage. Those days are clearly behind her though, she recently got a long bob and I think it looks absolutely fabulous.
