Beauty Blunders: Episode 6

Welcome back to the sixth episode of Beauty Blunders, a series dedicated to guest bloggers and of course, you! Presenting to you a little compilation of our embarrassing beauty mishaps that made us cringe at the time, but have made us laugh ever since. We have the lovely Emily from today, and I’m so glad she got in touch – her story is something that we can all definitely relate to! She’s a lovely lady who’s all about that fashion, lifestyle and health/fitness edit. Her blog is stunning and I know I’ll definitely be heading over there for tips on healthy eating and whatnot. Please check her out (links below) and without further ado, here is her beauty blunder.

Firstly, what a great series this is. Who hasn’t made a blunder with their makeup, and why not just celebrate the fact that we all have bad days with a blog series dedicated to them.

For my beauty blunder, I was having one of those days where you’re feeling a bit shit and you want to put on a load of make up, step out the house, and make the world believe you have everything together; when really you’re tired, overworked and just want to climb back into your bed.

The fact that I was having one of these days before going to work should have warned me against opting for my favorite RED ted baker lipstick, but oh no. I wanted to wear my red lip and tell the world I was a together woman.

So off I went to work.

After a couple of hours of working in the cafe by myself serving customers, my colleague, and friend came in to join me. When she came in she kept looking at me funny until she finally said ‘you do realise you have red lipstick smudged all round your mouth?’
I was so embarrassed. She then tried to help get it off for me, but it ended up more smudged. I had to make my way to the bathroom to wash it off.

How long I had been serving customers with my makeup making a nod to THE JOKER I will never know. But I certainly wont be wearing that lip to work again.

I’ll be honest – this is one of my biggest fears when it comes to bright/dark lippies, which is probably why I cling to matte lippies like a lifeboat. Don’t worry Emily, I think the “just snogged” lipstick look is very in right now.

  1. I have definitely rocked a smudged red lip before. I started wearing the colour in college and I used this necklace that had a mirror on it (it was shaped like the mirror from Beauty and the Beast) and every so often I would use it for lipstick checks.
I am very impressed at being self taught to play piano. xx
