Review: You Said It Cards

T’is the season to be jolly… and send rude, hilarious greeting cards. I recently had the opportunity to review You Said It Cards, a lovely little print and design company based in England. They specialise in funny greeting cards, “helping you offend and entertain”. This is right up my street – I love a good dose of risqué humour and I would personally giggle my ass off if I received one of these bad boys.

I’ll say it – I had the best time picking out a card in the first place on their site. There are just so many tongue-in-cheek options for every occasion – from Christmas cards to cards for celebrating break-ups/divorces (I had no idea that was a thing), they’ve got you covered. If you’re worried about the level of profanity/offence you’re going to cause, don’t worry – they have some tamer options in the mix too. Not just limited to cards, there are badges and a pocket mirror too if that’s something your lucky recipient fancies.

My card arrived fairly swiftly (2 days after it was ordered, I believe) and it came in a hardback cardboard envelope. This was very handy – kept the card uncrinkled and protected on the way to my house and more importantly, through the mail slot. The card and envelope were wrapped in plastic inside the cardboard envelope. I have a wee obsession with perfectly smooth paper of any kind – the team at You Said It Cards obviously knew that. Obviously.

How could anyone not love this? I know, I picked a relatively tame one but hey, it made me giggle!

The card itself has a glossy finish on the outer covers, with an uncoated inner that allows you to write with any pen. It measures 15 x 15 cm when folded, and fits the envelope perfectly. The quality of the paper is absolutely beautiful – the luxurious, thick kind that is so satisfying to write on. I used an ink pen and it did NOT do that thing where the ink spreads into the paper as you write and creates fuzzy outlines.

The inside of the card is blank, which is probably my favourite thing when it comes to cards – lots of space for doodling, writing and personalising as much or as little as you like. If you’re an artistic soul who wants to design a pop up card or even incorporate little LED lights, this is a card that would be perfect for that kind of thing. The sky really is the limit.

The envelopes come in an array of colours – black, cream, green, red, yellow and orange. The orange and the green did look pretty fabulous, but I’m a sucker for a good shade of red.

  • Price

All the cards retail for £2.99 ($3.91), but the badges and pocket mirror vary – they’re all around the £3 mark. You can get a personalised message printed in the card for an extra £0.75, and get it mailed straight to the lucky recipient. If you’re based in the UK, shipping is free. Internationally, I believe rates vary depending on location.

A great way to put a smile on someone’s face. I love that these cards are so unabashedly original and have none of the sugary sweet, gimmickiness of generic greeting cards. Perfect for anyone in your life who has an edgier sense of humour, or even as a very passive-aggressive way of telling that one co-worker how you really feel about them. On second thought, maybe save that for your last day at the job.

Have you started your Christmas shopping/card shopping? I’d love to hear all about it – put it in the comments below! You go girl.

  1. This is a great idea and I always look for any excuse to laugh about something (within reason!). I have not actually sent christmas cards in years. I remember being in primary school and sending them through the school’s post box. It literally used to make my day if I received more than one card each day. xx

  2. This is just in time for christmas because I absolutely cannot stand generic cards and this is the perfect solution to that problem!! But I will be going for the tamer ones for sure just to test the waters with my friends and family first before moving onto my coworkers :’) Thanks for sharing this awesome brand with us! ❤

  3. These are so cool!! I would also love to receive one of these! Especially the marriage one hahaha My dad says this every year on their anniversary 🙂 Great idea esp with the festive season approaching! xx
